Come Pop Some Corks And Make Merry…
At one of our informative wine tastings, with the opportunity of combining it with a visit to a traditional bacaro / enoteca – a Venetian bar / wine merchant experience much loved by locals!
Led by our simpatica (or simpatico!) certified sommelier you’ll uncork the secrets of our eminently quaffable Italian wines
Focusing on 4 bottles from the Veneto and Friuli regions (a mix of red and white) paired with seasonal local appetisers, you’ll explore –
- The origins and history of each of the wines opened along with an insider’s insight into the history of the city itself
- The principles and methods of wine tasting using sight, smell and taste along with expert tips on what to look out for
- How to best open, pour, serve and store your wines
- How to read Italian wine labels
- The importance and principles of wine and food pairing
Easy-going, unpretentious – and best of all, tons of fun – wine tastings last approx. 2 hours and can, if you wish, be preceded by a short (1hour) bacaro / enoteca visit during which you’ll savour a glass of wine in a truly
authentic Venetian setting – just like a local! – before wending your way towards ‘A Tavola’ on the Romite Canal in readiness for the start of your wine-tasting class
Carefully put together with beginners in mind –
- All wine tastings (and bacaro / enoteca visits) are subject to availability and must be pre-booked in advance
- Wine tastings and bacaro / enoteca visits are conducted in either English or Italian
- All wines, water and paired foodstuffs are included in your tasting
- Any food allergies, food intolerances or special dietary requirements? Please be sure to let us know before booking so that we can contact you to discuss this further
- Wine-tasting participants must be over 18 years of age
- ‘A Tavola’ is located on the ground floor with access to a luxury guest bathroom and a private furnished courtyard/garden to the rear, the latter transforming into a pretty al fresco socialising and wine-tasting space
- Cancellation is free of charge within 7 days before the day of the cooking class. Cancellation fee of 50% will be charged if your booking is cancelled between 6 and 3 days before the class. No refund if the cancellation occurs less 2 days before the class onwards, and in case of no show.
